Reynolds was a property owner and part time resident on Cape Ann, and his descriptions utilize first hand accounts and childhood memories. Certainly the best account of early 19th century life on Cape Ann, typical of a New England fishing community. For good measure the hero of this tale is inadvertently involved in the War of 1812, and spends time in Dartmoor prison. Spine ends worn. Good. $60
