This is a little-known book on Gloucester and the fisheries. Its plot, according to the author, is based on the lives and doings of real persons. Though contemporary with Connolly’s works it is not mentioned in Brown’s otherwise thorough “Bibliography of Cape Ann Literature” or in any other reference of which I am aware. The book is illustrated with photographs of schooners and wharf scenes and has a handsome decorated cover picturing a knockabout schooner. A VG copy. $50 See Illustration
