Shrewsbury, (UK) 1801. b/w charts. 4to. xii, 32 charts, 21 pp. From surveys made under the direction of the Lord of the Admiralty: by the late intelligent and ingenious hydrographer, Lewis Morris, esq. with hints on improvements necessary to be made for the greater security of navigation on the coast of Wales: together with some useful tables for mariners. A new edition, with additional observations, from surveys lately made by William Morris. Lewis Morris published his book of charts of the coast of Wales in 1748. His son William updated and expanded the work in 1801. This is the sons updated effort. The plates are new, but many of the charts derive from his fathers work. The additions show harbors which had become more important after 1748 - Liverpool, Amlwch, Aberaeron, New Quay, Carmarthen, Burry and Swansea. In addition, the book contains a chart of Dublin Harbor. Bound in original blue paper covers with white paper backstrip, as issued. Pages are untrimmed; charts are pristine.
