These devices are described on p. 40 of the book. 16 other other purveyors of industrial marine products advertize in this book as well, and two dozen of their products are described. An interesting catalog relating to steam vessels, dating from around the turn of the century. Minor wear. $125

A massive effort, undertaken by the Massachusetts legislature in hopes of preserving the original documents from excessive handling. Court orders, judicial acts, misc. records, Acts of the Commissioners of the United Colonies of New England, laws, deeds and Indian records, 1633-1692. Thousands of pages of official documents delineating the beginnings of New England, many of them not reprinted elsewhere. Much of interest to the maritime historian. Individual volumes turn up or are reprinted here and there, but the entire set is scarce, rating an "aa" in Howes. S-440.
